Tiki Huts
We are getting a lot more request to repair and re-thatch these very cheap imported Bamboo Tikki Huts. The main reason is they started selling these about 7 years ago and they only last 5 to 7 years.

Unfortunately there are a few flaws with these Bamboo Huts.
*The pitch is very low.
A proper Bali Hut pitch will be 30 to 35 degrees.
* The Palm leaves are very thin. Basically just one layer thick?
* The Bamboo does not last as long as CCA treated timber.
* We have found Dust Beatles in some frames. If you see small little holes in the frame, It's Dust Beatles. They just love Bamboo.
* Frame becomes wobbly after few years.
* There is no way to put these huts through council. Like Japanese paper walls.

We can repair these Bamboo Tikki Huts, But it will cost a lot more to repair it to a high quality standard than what the Hut cost when it was purchased.
Because of the low pitch we have two options to repair.
1) Re-thatch with Smart Synthetic Thatch. Because the pitch are to low for Alang Alang Natural Thatch.
2) Remove the old cheap Tikki hut and replace with a descend Bali Hut that will actually last longer than 5 years.
